A) One way Cronon builds his ethos is though his many years at different elite universities. At the start of the paper his introduction states the places that he previously studied and his past and present jobs. All of this together builds an ethos that is well educated. By doing so much research at elite universities in the past it makes the research that he gathers look stronger. The research that he has found makes his views on wilderness look as if it is something only for the elite.
B) One way Cronon employs logos is when he talks about the people being convicted of poaching in the national park that originally belonged to them. By stating that the park originally belonged to them he uses logic to provide evidence that supports his argument. A way that Cronon employs pathos is through the imaginary that is created when he mentions the Sierra Nevada canyon. By doing this Cronon draws readers in to think of similar memories so he can make them relate to his argument and the article better.
